C. Venkata S. Ram, MD, MACP, FACC is the director of the Clinical Research Institute of Dallas Nephrology Associates. In addition to his consultative practice, Dr. Ram is a professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and he is the director of the Texas Blood Pressure Institute.
Dr. Ram, originally from India, received his medical training from the Government Medical College of Marathwada University in Augangabad, India and Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed internship and residency programs in Internal Medicine at Brown University - Rhode Island Hospital and Mercer Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds medical licensure from the state of Texas.
Dr. Ram's professional career has centered on the management of hypertension and he has combined his private practice with an academic career, research, writing, public speaking, and service to the community. Often referred to as the "doctors' doctor" for hypertension, Dr. Ram has been chosen by his peers as one of the top 10 doctors in Dallas County (Texas). For more than two decades, Dr. Ram's work has explored the mechanisms of action of various anti-hypertensive drugs.
