ISHIB2005
Hypertension and Related Diseases:
Control and Prevention in Ethnic Populations Across the Lifespan
July 15-18, 2005 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
"Despite the threat of an impending hurricane, the ISHIB2005 Conference, which took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was one of the most inspiring and educational meetings in our history. The several hundred attendees created a warm, friendly "ownership" atmosphere, which facilitated learning enhanced participation.
Up-to-date information on hypertension and its surrounding controversies as well as the urgent push to prevent and control diabetes, obesity, and lipid disorders were presented. A session was devoted to the current management of heart failure in the African American population, especially with the valuable addition of Nitric oxide-enhancing therapy. I am certain that our 2006 conference celebrating our 20th anniversary and exploring the evolving metabolic syndrome will be even greater."
