American Society on Hypertension (ASH) Specialists Program
What is the ASH Specialists Program?
The ASH Specialists Program was formed by the American Society of Hypertension in 1998 in response to the growing recognition that the hypertension problem requires the coordinated effort of front-line health care providers and those physicians with documented expertise in managing hypertension. The ASH Specialists Program created the "Specialist in Clinical Hypertension" designation for the specific purpose of identifying and recognizing physicians with expert skills and knowledge in the management of clinical hypertension and related disorders.
Who is eligible for designation?
Candidates applying in this designation cycle must pass an examination. To be admitted to the examination, candidates must hold an active license to practice medicine in the United States or Canada and have at least one relevant board, ABMS, or equivalent, as part of the minimum standard for eligibility.
