Call for Abstracts
ISHIB invites medical researchers, medical students, and healthcare professionals
in various disciplines to submit abstracts of research concerning the treatment
and prevention of chronic diseases that disproportionately affect ethnic
minority populations. Abstracts selected for presentation at ISHIB2005 are
peer-reviewed and must meet scoring criteria based on scientific merit.
Accepted research will continue to build the body of knowledge critical
to the understanding of cardiovascular disease, its risk factors, and other
chronic disorders.
Research in all scientific disciplines related to the health of ethnic
populations is accepted and may be completed works or results of work in
progress. Typical categories have included research in areas such as:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Other Risk Factors, Prevention, and Health Promotion
- Cardiovascular Disease
- Stroke
- Renal Function and Disease
- Women’s Health
- Children and Young Adults
- Translational Research / Public Health Practice
Grading/Presentation Guidelines
Abstracts will be scored by the ISHIB2005 Abstract Review Committee according
to scientific merit, relevance to health of ethnic populations and expertise
of presentation.
All accepted abstracts will be presented as posters at ISHIB2005. As determined
by the review committee, exceptional work will be selected for moderated
merit poster sessions or oral presentation.
A presenting author must attend the conference to present the abstract.
Abstracts will not be considered without a completed conference registration
from the presenting author.
